We live in a world surrounded by images, so it is no surprise that they have become the visual equivalent of background noise. It takes something special to make us take notice and respond. Jack Young has been able to achieve that special something in his artistic endeavors: whether it’s a sign to direct a library customer, a poster to promote a program, a brochure to inform about a public service, an exhibit to highlight an important aspect of history, or an interactive installation that brings a beloved children’s book to life. Jack’s work reflects keen understanding of proportion, perspective, and palette. But it is also infused with a genuine desire to share insight and make the kind of connection that engages the viewer and leaves a lasting impact. Jack’s respect for those who will see his work translates into bold choices that result in new ways of seeing and appreciating the subject at hand. The portrait of a young girl reading that covers the façade of a branch is not just a nice image; it conveys a welcoming message to an entire community. The range of projects Jack has successfully created demonstrates a depth of experience and his willingness to challenge his talent and skill. The examples shown here are a veritable smorgasbord of imaginative and innovative creations. They spotlight
Jack Young’s unique creative acumen, boundless artistic energy, and deep sensitivity towards those who will view his work. They represent an unparalleled ability to communicate, inform and inspire.
